Dana Muntean- Bio
Dana Muntean resides in Canton, Ohio with her 4 rescue dogs. Her grown son and daughter live in the Canton area as well.
She is a creator of wall murals, faux finishes, and painted furniture in both commercial and residential venues. She is a freelance artist who works directly with clients as well as designers and builders.
She participates in many community art projects with school age children and high school students. One of the mural projects that involved the city high school students, adorns the halls of Mercy Medical Center. You can also enjoy viewing a teen mural project of painted boards of a secret garden that is mounted & displayed at the entrance of the Cultural Center on Market street in Canton.
Most recently she collaborated with students at the Multi County Attention Center to finish the 3rd series of murals. Two were painted in the gym & one was painted on boards that will be displayed on a public building in the near future.In 2008 she was presented with the award for : Stark County Artist of the Year.
She has had many opportunities to travel with her artwork. You'll find her works from New York to Florida. One of her favorite mottos is : "have paint brush, will travel"
The beach is her favorite place to re-energize her creative spirit.
Currently she also shares her creative time with her "art" family at Second April Galerie, 324 Cleveland Ave. N.W. Downtown Canton, where she has a studio space. She displays and sells a variety of painted furniture, canvas paintings and prints and other gift items.
She is very passionate about her dogs and rescue. She is a member of Friends of Stark Pound, who are very dedicated in the humane treatment of the dogs, adoptions & educating the public. She dedicates a large portion of her time with fund raisers for the dogs & is also a dog walker at the pound. She paints pet portraits on commission. A portion of each portrait sale is donated to FOSP and other animal charities. She also donated a mural that she painted at the pound.
